The food is simply delectable! The staff are friendly and helpful. They're always willing to accommodate your food allergies or preferences. Gets super busy and packed so I recommend going 15 minutes early for a spot before you plan to meet/eat

One of the best breakfasts I've had, hands down! And their London Fog latte was literal perfection.Vegan options. supporting local businesses. Trendy spot to sit and read, do some work, or just stuff your face like I shamelessly did.In response to Google's question: are there small plates to share? Yes. But with food this good, you won't want to!I have included a picture of my meal. As you can see, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the food because I was too busy enjoying every bite. If that isn't a testament to how good the food is here, I don't know what is!Also, they have free WiFi, for you antisocial kids who can't sit for five minutes without checking your Instagram feed 😆

Nailed waffles sandwiches. Real fresh ingredients. The waffles all have a different batter which makes them unique!

I can't actually rate this place as there has never been an empty table. When I go to a restaurant I order, eat, pay and leave. I'm funny like that. I don't hang around for hours nor move in for the day. If I owned a restaurant I'd want customers like me

This was my first time to The Cannon and I will be back. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, they won't disappoint!Wow what an experience, from the moment I walked in I knew I was going to have a good experience. There is a wide variety of coffee and teas; their sweets are something which you can't get anywhere else. I had the Banana Chocolate Walnut Fritter - absolutely tender and melts in your mouth (or coffee if you are a dipper).

Food tasted amazing and staff were friendly. I didn't like the portion size for money I spent. I left there hungry after spending $25 on my Canadian breakfast. No toast included Bacon was especially amazing

Great food and great service. I love how the food is served on waffles- very unique idea. However, the price range is way too high. We paid $40 for two coffees and two breakfast sandwiches. They were very good, but I wouldn’t go back here often due to the prices. Also if you are going to eat in at a busy time prepare to wait as there is very limited and cramped seating. If that doesn’t bother you, it may add to the unique character of the shop!

I had the opportunity to try out The Cannon recently. Although the food tastes good, and feels refreshing, I do not feel that the serving size or experience justifies the cost of the total meal. It's great to see new ideas and unique menu options, however I feel that wouldn't be enough to draw me back to this place anytime soon. Cons: difficult street parking, cramped seating, busy location with lots of people in a non air conditioned atmosphere, high cost. Two breakfast options, and two coffees were $40.

A gem on the Eastside. Enjoy the waffles and a coffee in the morning as the sunlight pours in. The pastries and coffee are dynamite. Coffee from Seth Taylor and Detour, waffles and pastries made in house. My fav coffee spot in Hamilton. I can't visit the Hammer unless I'm able to visit The Canon.

My first experience at The Cannon but it definitely won't be the last. I had the 'Merican sandwich and it was absolute perfection. My companion had the gluten free waffle and bacon and was so excited to be able to have a gluten free breakfast.

Came here for the first time a couple weeks ago. It's very unique! Lots of waffle-based dishes and local coffees. Prices are very reasonable! Metered street parking is available. Or, you can park at Centre Mall and walk up the street!

The Waffle sandwiches are very good. We had a breakfast sandwich with egg tomato and a cheese Waffle and a California with avacado, tomatoes and bacon. They offer gluten free and vegan waffles. Believe it or not, a Waffle instead of bread was a pleasant surprise.

Exceptional local coffee shop. It's very busy on weekends if you want to eat brekie - but a wait is worth it. Not good for large groups as they took out the big community table seating. Great place to grab a hot drink on your way to the Saturday Ottawa Street Market

I've been a couple of times now and it's perfect for a quick bite when you're shopping along Ottawa St. It can be very difficult to find seating during peak times (noon) with a seventeen seat capacity. Food is phenomenal and that's why I've rated five stars. Open face waffles and waffle sandwiches are their specialty. I had the 'Merican'. This dish is meatless and is basically a giant open faced waffle topped with poached eggs, spinach, avacodo, sweet potato and goat cheese. $12. Homemade 'Blue eyed iced blueberry tea' $3 and fresh coffee make this the perfect ending to an all day Sunday breakfast!

This cozy little corner is my all time fav! The basic waffle with fresh fruit is so delicious. Made fresh on the spot, and so light & fluffy 💕 We order our vanilla lattes 1/2 sweet, and it's the perfect combo with our waffles. The best way to start my Friday!!

I ordered the Canadian Brunch with a brewed coffee, definitely worth what it cost. I will gladly return! I love waffles! Didn't event need any syrup. Bacon, poached eggs, and cheddar cheese along with the tender embedded fresh apple squares kept everything together nicely. Thanks Cannon!

Best oat milk latte I've ever had, and no extra cost for alternative milks!!

My favorite coffee in Hamilton. Oat milk latte is my go-to order. The lids always seem to leak though, so bring a travel mug to easily solve the issue! Limited seating, try to go on a weekday/off time. A few toys in milk crates for kiddos to play with. Although not very stroller friendly.

Very nice waffles, coffee and tea. Great little spot. Lots of parking around. Arrived around 930 on a Sunday. Few people inside. Bye the time we left it was packed. Had a waffle with strawberries, chocolate drizzle and fresh cream. It was awesome. The other was a breakfast waffle, with poached eggs and roasted veggies. So good as well. Will be going back for more. Very friendly and great atmosphere!

Went there for lunch and despite it being a busy time of the day, service was very quick! I was greeted immediately and got a table within fifteen minutes. I got the maritimer waffles and it’s absolutely delicious!! Love the creme fraiche with dill. The staff there are also very friendly and helpful!

This is a really cozy and beautiful place. I totally can recommend to have a nice and relaxed breakfast here. The coffee is delicious, the breakfast is amazing and the choices are plenty. We went for the waffles and they just put us in a good mood for an amazing start of the day

Cozy and trendy atmosphere. Small-ish menu but good options for what is there and they make a decent cup of coffee or tea!

Delicious pesto flavoured waffle with poached eggs, avocado and sweet potatoes drizzled with balsamic reduction with a perfect London Fog. Service is fast and friendly. I loved it, makes me feel like at home in my favourite neighbourhood café!

Love this place. Been here twice and I love the atmosphere, even if it's on the smaller side. Haven't had a problem finding seating yet! Coffee is great quality, pastries are great. Can't wait to try a waffle! I'll be back very often :)

The service is wonderful and the food - especially the baked goods like their scones - are delicious. However, I wish the space was larger and easier to get into; I understand the need for the step but perhaps a button to keep the door held open would make it more accessible.

went there probably at their peak hours and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and their accompany (and the food and coffee) there. space is well-lit by natural lighting which is probably what makes this place cozy and warming (and full of joy). ordered waffles with friend for takeout and then seating became available! the waffles are fluffy and perfect and the people are very welcoming and friendly. overall it’s a great spot for coffee/tea stop and get the waffle fix!

So yummy! Great for families with kids and students trying to check out a delicious relaxed brunch spot. So cozy and great service.

I like everything about this place. Super tasty breakfast options, excellent coffee, friendly staff and solid location (lots of street parking, good area for a stroll and just the right amount of that Hamilton grit). The only reason I don’t give it 5* is because of how busy it can get, which is great for business, but you take a risk finding a place to sit if you wanna hang for awhile.

A gem of a coffee house. We came for an early brunch and enjoyed the waffles (perfectly crisp and full of flavour). The coffee and latte art were lovely, and they have London Fogs down to a science.

It takes a decent Flat White and impeccable service in order for me to visit a coffee shop on the daily. The Cannon, makes the cut. Best coffee shop in Hamilton.

Best London Fog you can get anywhere!! It’s always busy on the weekends but that’s just because everything is so delicious. Staff are always refreshingly warm and friendly. The whole place just feels cozy, a wonderful mix of old and new. You can’t have a bad day at The Cannon.

Very friendly staff and delicious coffee, drinks, and waffles, one of my favorite brunch places in the city. Must try the merican waffle if you're into savoury waffles and the shannon to drink, there baked are really delicious too.

Cute place, good for a casual date outing. Pretty average seating space, so not somewhere you'd bring a group of friends. Menu is very limited and a bit expensive for what they offer. A Belgian waffle with some sweet potatoes and 2 eggs will set you back $15, before adding a coffee or anything else you'd like, plus tip.Would go again, but not right away.

We were to get its famous sandwiches on waffles today but the kitchen was closed due to the hot weather! We ended up to coffee and cookies, tasted great.

The coffee menu is simple but they do it well. This was an excellent cappucino. There is also plenty of non coffee drinks and water for those looking for an alternative.Didn't have a chance to try the food yet; but the coffee certainly encourages me to come back sometime.

Been to every cafe in Hamilton, and in my opinion Cannon makes one of the best coffees in the city. They change coffee regularly so I’ve gotten to taste different coffees that I might not have gotten a chance to unless I visited Vancouver or Montreal. Staff are friendly and know why they are doing. Coffee is an art here and it shows in the end product. I will drive from the west end just to have a coffee here, that’s how much I enjoy this place!

Excellent coffee, aero press and regular drip. I got the American waffle gluten free, my husband got the California waffle also gluten free. Beautifully presented, exquisite flavours, and we left feeling so stuffed after cleaning our plates. Wonderful, friendly service from every single staff member we saw today. Highly highly recommend!
